October 1 – December 31
Outline:
Route 66! Choose any physical activities you like… whether you’re a thrill seeker or prefer the familiar walk around the neighborhood, Route 66 will help you build a fitness habit to last a lifetime. Each day you choose the physical activity and record your time, then watch your vintage car move along the 2448 miles of America’s Highway — 1 minute of exercise equals 1 mile. The goal is to exercise 5-6 days a week for 30 minutes a day. If you don’t reach 2448 minutes (miles) by December 31 it’s okay, just strive to exercise, eat right and be happy!!
Try something new or stick with a favorite. If you’re just starting out, 15 minutes of exercise at a time may be your goal. As you progress, aim for 30 minutes or more each day.
For greatest health benefits, set a realistic daily goal and aim for consistency.
Along the way, there will be information about historical landmarks, healthy recipes, health articles.
